Book the boat to Ilha Deserta (Deserted Island) directly at the waterfront kiosk in Faro's marina rather than through any hotel or tour operator — it's €12 round-trip and runs roughly every hour in summer. The island has zero cars, one restaurant, and 10km of empty Atlantic beach that looks like the Caribbean.
