Practical Tips
Buy a Telia or Bitė SIM card at the airport Viasat store or any convenience store. Don't wait for city (slower checkout). Telia is more reliable. A basic package runs €10-15 and includes 5GB 4G data plus some calling minutes. Monthly plans with 10GB data cost €20-25. Activation takes 10 minutes. Buy a €10 Vilnius Card for museum entries (3 days, €40, saves you €15-20). Hit Uzupis neighborhood (10-minute walk east from Old Town)—it's where actual Vilnius nightlife and creative culture lives. Get breakfast at Raw Lyfe (vegan spot, €6-8, shockingly good), lunch at a milk bar (traditional Lithuanian canteen, €4-6, authentic and cheap), dinner at Telegrafas or Ąžuolynas (both €15-20, modern Lithuanian cuisine). The Curonian Spit (2-hour bus to Klaipeda + ferry) is genuinely underrated—golden dunes, quiet beaches, amber hunting. Most Americans miss it. One night there, minimum.
