A major four-day Islamic holiday where the city essentially pauses — many shops close, families travel, and tourist sites can be either very empty or briefly crowded depending on the day. Travelers should know that some restaurants close and transport gets hectic, but the atmosphere in neighborhoods like Fatih and Eyüp is genuinely moving.
